Gratiela Gradisteanu (Pircalabioru) graduated from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Biology, with a degree in Biochemistry and holds a Master in Microbial Biotechnology and Genetics.
She started her research career in 2011 as a Research Assistant at the Conway Institute, University College Dublin. He has participated in 5 European projects and held 3 international scholarships. Since 2016, she is a Research Fellow at ICUB(Research Institute of the University of Bucharest) and has been actively involved in several national and international projects as project leader: inorganic nanoparticle and collagen based hydrogels with prolonged antimicrobial activity for the prevention of infectious wounds, novel textiles for parietal defects, advanced techniques for early detection of SARS-CoV2 , Type 2 diabetes: a multi-omics view on host NAPH oxidases and gut microbiota.
Her main research areas are: omics technologies, molecular diagnostics for infectious diseases, microbiome in health and disease, biomaterials and tissue engineering.
