Dr. Sorin Tunaru has more than fifteen years of international academic research experience at four prestigious research institutions in three countries. The bulk of his research has focused on the pharmacology of G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) with a particular interest in the elucidation of the physiological roles of newly discovered ligands of GPCRs (agonists and antagonists). He has expertise in developing strategies to identify novel modulators of GPCRs, including assay development for high-throughput screening campaigns as well as in vivo analysis of pharmacological effects mediated by receptors. Dr. Tunaru has initiated and managed collaborative work with laboratories from the academia and the pharma industry on many drug discovery projects.
