Oana Pelea is currently doing her doctoral studies in the field of synthetic biology at the University of Oxford, her thesis focusing on the development of CRISPR-based cellular sensors.
Her current position is postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich in Switzerland.
Oana is a graduate of the ”Mihai Eminescu” National College in Oradea, later admitted to the University of Sheffield (MBiolSci Genetics and Molecular Cell Biology) in the UK, where she attended the bachelor’s and master’s courses in the field of genetics and molecular biology. The participation in the iGEM competition sparked her passion for synthetic biology, which led her to pursue a doctorate in this field.
